Location and access

Margate is located in the far northeast of Kent, in the Isle of Thanet.

London is approximately 120km by road. The fastest train journey takes approximately one hour and 45 minutes.

The planned improvement to rail links commencing in 2009 will improve connectivity and reduce journey times. The high-speed domestic services to east Kent, including hourly services from Margate to London via Ashford, will reduce journey times to around one hour and 20 minutes.

The recent re-introduction of passenger services at nearby Manston Airport will also assist in attracting businesses and tourists to the town.
